The Safari Chair | Collectible Design

The Safari Chair is an exploration of the complex relationship between man and nature: a «wild» imagination translated into a sophisticated collectible object.
A chimera of wood and leather
We approached the safari chair as a design methodology. Our armchair stands like a chimera: animal references hybridize with plant forms, the structure evokes a warrior’s stance, the leather acts as protective armor. A «wild chair» tamed by exceptional craftsmanship.
Materiality
Handcrafted in France in waxed walnut and saddle leather, the Safari Chair has entered the permanent collection of the Cité du Cuir as an embodiment of excellence in the use of leather in contemporary furniture.
