The factory of the future. A resolutely contemporary journey through the history of the Maîtrise / Galeries Lafayette.
A living heritage, a creative material at the service of the future.
In these narrative devices, contemporary patterns are mixed with a heritage inventory. In this way, the richness of the historical background is expressed as a foundation for present and future creations.
"We want to show not only patterns but also objects in a laboratory where we would freeze a moment in which we would be examining, looking in detail at the heritage treasures". An immersive space where the pattern that has become serial surrounds visitors. We are convinced that visitors must be able to manipulate the patterns. This moment is for us an essential articulation of the exhibition, where the visitor truly becomes the protagonist.
The visitor/protagonist, a motif in hand comes to stick it in a corridor covered with wired wallpaper. Over the course of the days, a free, lively and unique pattern is created. Space in which the future of la Maîtrise/Galeries Lafayette is experienced.
